Graphene-X | Jackvest
Product Reveal Trailer
Our first collaboration with Graphene-X was for the Jackvest - a modular jacket inspired in design by the spacesuits worn by NASA’s astronauts.
We were tasked with the direction, animation and video production of a reveal trailer for the Jackvest that would generate hype around the product launch.
JackVest
Inspired by NASA spacesuits, this garment was crafted to transform seamlessly into a vest, semi-vest and full jacket. Protected by a waterproof graphene-integrated shell and lined with a lightly insulated interior, it blends unrivaled functionality with a minimalist aesthetic. With graphene part of it’s core structure, it creates a tensile shield protecting from the elements while maintaining breathability and abrasion resistance.
Concept
We wanted to strike a balance between revealing the technical features and its minimalist aesthetic. Dark studios, surreal environments and intermixed abstracts were married together in an accelerated crescendo to generate a sense of mystery and intrigue.
Scene
We chose the robot arm construction of the product as our hero scene to combine the futurisitc feel of the graphene technology with the innovation of the detachable garment pieces.
Brand
Thirteen unique Graphene-X logo frames were created for this one second shot in the beginning of the video.
Abstracts
The graphene integration into the jacket was abstractly demonstrated using the hexagonal lattice structure of carbon atoms which graphene is made up of entirely.
R&D
From the models and environments to the textures covering them, everything was created in-house from scratch. Below are images of the original robot arm model undergoing some tests with light, color and scene variation.
